Rita L. Salamone

Rita L. (Piccirilli) Salamone passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 85. Mrs. Salamone of Norristown was a homemaker, but most of all, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Holy Saviour Church. Rita enjoyed home decorating, watching talk shows and reality television, reading People magazine, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid country and western music fan and looked forward to her many visits at the Valley Forge Music Fair in Devon to see her favorites.  She also loved celebrating Italian holiday traditions with her family, especially cooking the classic holiday meals. Rita was born in Black Horse, Norristown, on May 21, 1937 and was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Vernacchio) Piccirilli. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Anthony R. Salamone for 58 years. Surviving are her daughter Denise (Frank) LaRosa, son Gerald (Marialice) Salamone, and two grandchildren Nicholas and Noelle LaRosa.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main Street, Norristown. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Norristown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Saviour Church or Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Volpe Funeral Home.
