Robert W. Zitzer

Loving Son, husband, father, and coach, Robert W. Zitzer, 76, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023.

Mr. Zitzer of Norristown was a retired Building Controls Engineer for Madsen Incorporated in Broomall, PA. He was born in Philadelphia on August 7, 1946 to the late Rudolph and Gladys (Sangston) Zitzer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Helena (Galanti) Zitzer. Bob is also survived by his daughter Danielle (husband Joseph Delliponti) and son, James (wife Kaitlyn).

Bob enjoyed playing golf, doing puzzles, dancing, playing the lottery and watching his granddaughter auto race. Bob was an avid Philadelphia sports fan as well as a proud  ice hockey, baseball and football coach.

Bob cherished spending time with his four granddaughters, Adrianna, Elouise, Elizabeth, and Finley and had a warm smile for everyone he encountered. He loved bright colors, and his favorite color is yellow, so we welcome you to celebrate him by dressing in color. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 West Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd., East Norriton and also on Monday from 8:45 to 9:45 AM at the Holy Saviour church. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 26 at 10 AM at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown. 

Burial will follow the mass at St. Patricks cemetery. 

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe Funeral Home.
