Ronald Dradon Coleman was born to the late Jean and Dradon Coleman on August 20, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA. Their family was completed with the birth of their daughter Elaine. Ron wenton to serve in the US Army and received an honorable discharge. He later attended Ursinus College and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1966.
In 1981 Ron married Jan. They were united for 38 years until her passing in 2019. The couple enjoyed many activities and hobbies. In 2022 Ron met Evelyn Allen who was his faithful partner until he departed this life. The couple took pleasure in just spending time together, but often enjoyed fine dining, movies and watching sporting events.
Ron was an avid sports fan, and his love of sports was known to all. He was a true “Philly sports fan” and was loyal to the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers. He was also skilled in watch repair.In addition, he was a voracious reader and was knowledgeable in many subjects and current literature.
Ron had many talents and worked as a furniture designer at Interstate Inc. until his retirement. After retiring he became a valued and loved member of the West Norriton Home Depot team. Ron was a beloved 16-year associate. He always had a bright smile and kind word for everyone.
Ron departed this life on January 2, 2025. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Dradon, his wife, Jan and his sister, Elaine. He will be remembered and missed by his many friends and associates as well as the employees and customers at the West Norriton Home Depot.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Friday January 10, 2025 at the Volpe Funeral Home. Calling time will be held from 11:00 a.m to 11:45 a.m with a service to follow at 12 noon.
Ron will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with military funeral honors in Bensalem, PA.
