Raised in Conshohocken and a graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, Ron was always a country boy at heart. He learned the building trade working alongside his father from an early age. Ron had always dreamed of having his own dairy farm and the country life called. His dreams were fulfilled when he owned a beautiful farm in upstate New York. Ron’s creativity was exhibited best when he combined his skills of building and farming. The old farmhouse Ron restored, with its beautiful inlaid floors and other special features, demonstrated this very well. The huge, Tudor style, stone barn Ron built by hand housed his cows in style. Folks came from far and wide to marvel at this beautiful work of architectural art.
As a child, Ron was the most adorable little boy you’d ever have seen. His dimpled cuteness was only outshone by his sweet nature. His generosity of spirit stayed with him his whole life as he so often shared what he had with those in need. Throughout his life, Ron met the challenges he faced with courage.
Many mornings found young Ron’s big sister standing alone on a street corner waiting for his return to rejoin her in their daily walk to SS Cosmos and Damian Elementary School. Ron would turn around and run several blocks back home because “I think I forgot to kiss mommy goodbye!” This was always one of his mother’s favorite memories.
Ron, a history buff, also enjoyed animals, old movies, westerns, and international news. Above all else, Elvis!
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Marieta, a nurse who has devoted her life to caring for others, his brother, three sisters and their spouses, Dolores, Gery, (Vince) Susan (Mike), Frank (Madeline) and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and their children. Preceding him in death were Ron’s loving parents, Frank (Gus) and Anna (DiGregorio).
A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s are requested.
