Roy Rodriguez Jr. Obituary

Roy V. Rodriguez Jr. passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was 75.
Mr. Rodriguez of Montgomeryville, PA was a retired Executive Salesman for Honeywell, Inc. for 47 years.
Roy was a graduate of Norristown High School and Gwynedd Mercy University. Roy was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves and served during the Vietnam War. Roy was born in Pottstown, PA on January 15, 1947 and was the son of the late Roy V. and Gilda (Ciociola) Rodriguez Sr.
He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Patricia (Rimmer) Rodriguez.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer
(Dr. Joseph) Calamia and Gina (Dennis) Morton Jr.
One brother, Richard (Barbara) Rodgers.
Five grandchildren, Charlie, Vincent, Simone, Josephine and Alice.

Two nephews, Richard Jr. and Michael Rodgers and many cousins. Preceded in death by his grandson, Theodore.
Roy gave generously of his time, talent and treasure to his family, friends and community. When Roy wasn't golfing locally or in Myrtle Beach, SC with his best friends, he could be found crafting beautiful furniture and guitars out of wood or tracing his family roots back to Italy and Mexico. He gave tirelessly to his beloved community as a founding member of the Montgomery Township Historical Society, as a Board member of the Montgomery Township Planning Commission, serving 18 years on the Open Space Committee, aiding in the planning, design and development of Memorial Grove, serving on the Korean War Memorial America-Korea Peace Park Committee and 26 years on the Shade Tree Commission where the annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway was recently renamed in his honor. Roy is also the former Chairman of the Montgomery Township Republican Committee. Roy served his county as a board member of the Montgomery County Planning Commission.

Always a proud American, one of the highlights of the past 4 years was traveling across the United States on Route 66 with his bride of 54 years in their Mustang GT. In addition to the United States, Roy and his wife enjoyed travels to Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean over the years as well as pilgrimages to Our Lady of Fatima, Lourdes and Guadalupe during the Year of Faith celebrated by the Catholic Church. Roy was one of the original members of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church.
