Russell A. Carfagno III, 72, of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Russell was a retired manager for the former Sears Hardware store in East Norriton, where he dedicated many years of service. He was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1971, and later earned a degree from Keystone Junior College.
A man of many interests, Russell had a lifelong love of dancing and proudly served as an instructor at Arthur Murray Studios. He also enjoyed skiing, gardening, and caring for plants and flowers. A devoted sports fan, he was an avid supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.
Russell was born in Norristown on December 26, 1953, and was the son of the late Russell A. Carfagno Jr. and Mildred (Rivollino) Carfagno.
He is survived by his brother, Tony Carfagno and his wife, Terry; his sisters, Anna Moloney and her late husband, Dennis, and Marie Salamone and her husband, John. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Stephen, Karen, Drew, Wendi, John, Tessa, Anthony, and Nicco, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. Life long friend Sheila and Mickey.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, January 12, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Saviour Church, 407 East Main Street, Norristown. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial trees be planted in Russell’s memory; orders may be placed through the funeral home obituary.
