Salvatore C. Volpe

Salvatore (Sal) C. Volpe, of Royersford, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the age of 85. Mr. Volpe was born in Norristown on December 18, 1937; the son of the late Domenico and Caroline (Capone)Volpe.

Sal graduated from Norristown High School and, after high school served in the United States Army Reserves.   He was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1776 and worked for over 30 years as a Grocery Manager for ShopRite supermarkets.  

He is survived by his wife Ann Louise (Baker) Volpe, his daughter Caroline Volpe (Jeffrey Hilt) and granddaughter Olivia Hilt.   He and his wife had a strong tradition of traveling at least once a year.  They enjoyed seeing new places and visiting old favorites.    He enjoyed spending his weekends watching Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles and Phillies, and horse racing

He was pre-deceased by his sisters, Josephine, Mafalda, Ida, Louise and brothers, Ralph, Albert, Dominick Volpe.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, December 27 from 9:00 to 10:15 AM at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd., East Norriton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken.  

Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) in his memory.
