Sean McStravog Obituary

Sean Patrick McStravog, 68 years old of Telford, PA, formerly of Ambler, PA passed away suddenly on Thursday morning February 6, 2025 at home.

Sean was born February 6, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Drexel Hill where he spent the majority of his young life. He was a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School, class of 1975. Sean’s hard work as a tradesman early in his career paved the way to his transition into property management. Shortly after his marriage to Patricia Scally in 1982, they moved to Chicago where he started this long-term career path. After eight years, they returned home, where he managed office buildings in Philadelphia, PA. This move eventually led to his proudest professional accomplishment of being the property manager for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. After his time at PMA, he dedicated 23 years to private estate management in Fort Washington, PA.

Sean had a remarkable smile and unique, unmistakable laugh that would light up any room he was in. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who loved his family fiercely.  If he was not tending to work or family life, you could find him diligently working on his crossword puzzles, learning about history, watching his favorite shows like Star Trek, or parked in front of the TV for every Eagles game screaming at the top of his lungs (E.A.G.L.E.S EAGLES!). In his younger years, he had a passion for hunting and cherished many memories with his brother Brian, even on trips where they came home empty-handed. He also frequently reminisced about summers in Longport, NJ, where he and his family spent their childhood vacations exploring and soaking up the sun at the beach. Though he could be stubborn or at times reserved, he had an undeniable soft spot for “his girls” (Katelyn, Kristin, and Kelsey) and beloved cats (Gato, Tasha, Sabrina, Ashley, Misty, and Oz man).

Sean was a humorous, loving, and kind man that will be missed deeply by all his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia McStravog (Scally), daughter, Katelyn McStravog (Mike), daughter, Kristin Catagnus (Thomas), daughter, Kelsey McStravog (Matt); grandchildren, Bryce, Jaxon, Luca; brother, Larry (Bridget) McStravog, sister, Denise (Bob) Miller, brother, Terrance McStravog, brother, Fr. Patrick McStravog, O.S.A, brother in-law, William Manzi and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence J. McStravog, Sr. MD and Suzanne J. McStravog (Gartland), his sister, Patricia McStravog, brother, Brian McStravog, and sister,Susan Strohmetz.
