We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father, Secondo Bruno, on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 88.
Secondo, who was known as "Nonno" to many, was born to the late Antoinette (Fanaro) and Giovanni Bruno in Roccaspinalveti, Province of Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy on February 5, 1935.
He immigrated to the United States in 1955. He settled in Norristown, PA working as a skilled laborer. With the help of his friends he met the love of his life Ersilia DiLucia and they married in 1961. He spent over 30 years working nights at General Electric Company in King of Prussia, PA while running his landscaping business during the day.
Secondo was a warm, kind-hearted and very hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Trooper, PA and also a member of the Holy Saviour Club in Norristown, PA. His hobbies included playing bocce ball, growing grapes and making wine, tending to his vegetable garden, going to Italian dance parties, and taking trips to the Jersey shore and casino. He loved spending time with his family, and furry friend Bella and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home watching tv.
Secondo was the beloved husband of the late Ersilia (DiLucia)Bruno and is survived by two children. Son, Anthony Bruno and wife Michelle Bruno of Telford, PA. Daughter, Christine Bruno Hoffman and husband Brian Hoffman of Boynton Beach, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren Tyler, Devin, Angela, Logan and Dante. One brother, Joseph Bruno of Norristown, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor his life on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Visitation BVM church, located at 196 N. Trooper Road, Trooper, PA 19403.
The viewing will be held from 9 to 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM.
Entombment will be immediately following the mass at St. Matthew Mausoleum, located at 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
