Virginia (Iacovelli) Pergine passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2022.
She was 91.
Mrs. Pergine, of Norristown, was a member of Holy Saviour Church.
Virginia was born in Bridgeport, PA, on September 8, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Angela (Carbo) Iacovelli.
For many years, Virginia worked in retail as a clothing buyer in both Norristown and Conshohocken. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years, Pasquale (Pat) Pergine. Together they traveled often, and in later years loved trying their luck during many trips to the casinos in Atlantic City and in Valley Forge. Virginia enjoyed following Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies; she especially loved following the Villanova Wildcats basketball team, and attended many of their games.
Virginia is survived by her two sisters, Rita Lombardo (Joseph) of Norristown, and Annamae Komorowski(Walter), of Norristown, and many nieces, nephews,great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters Rose Capoferri(Nazarene), Mary Scarpone (Michael), and Dora Iacovelli. She was also pre-deceased by two brothers, Vincent Iacovelli and Anthony Iacovelli (Barbara).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Thursday, December 15 at 10 AM in Holy Saviour church. Burial will be in Saint Patrick’s cemetery.
Viewing will be held Thursday at the church from 8:45 to 9:45 AM.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
