Wai-Gang Lei, passed away at the age of 63, on Jan. 13th 2026 at Jefferson-Frankfort Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Guangzhou, China on Sept.1, 1962, son of Victor Lei and MiuFan Wong. He graduated from Guangzhou No. 1 High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Institute of Electronic Engineering in Xi’an, China. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master in Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Wai-Gang immigrated to the United States on Jan. 13,1989 ( the exact month and day of his death).
Mr. Lei worked for Conrail for 10 years as an IT specialist. He furthered his career by being employed by The Vanguard Group, Inc, in Paoli, in 2009.
Wai-Gang was married to the former Jialu Qian(Jessica Qian-Lei) on Sept.23rd, 2005 in Nanjing, China.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica and two sons Jayden Lei and Eric Lei as well as two younger sisters; Winner Lei and Weijing Lei, both of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Victor Lei and MiuFan Wong. Wai-Gang enjoyed playing basketball and was a true homebody who spent much time reading and expanding his knowledge of the world.
Viewing will be at the Volpe Funeral Home on Germantown Pike, on January 20th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Internment will be private.
