Wanda (Lewandowski) Marinello, born February 20, 1929, was peacefully called home to be with Jesus on the evening of December 11, 2024. She was 95 years young and just 2 months short of her 96th birthday. She was the youngest daughter of the late Rose (Grala) and Peter Lewandowski of Conshohocken, PA and the beloved wife of the late Stephen A. Marinello of Norristown, PA. She is survived by her very devoted daughter Deborah (Debbie) Evans of Harrisburg, PA, two loving grandchildren, Lauren of Harrisburg and Andrew (Emma) of Denville, NJ, and one precious great-granddaughter, Adrienne, and her lovable granddog Lucy… in addition to many nieces and nephews whom she has loved over the years and whose lives she has impacted in many ways.
Wanda was predeceased by her three cherished sisters: Stella ( Anthony) Dolewa, Helen (John) Carpani, and Laura (John) Dragon, along with two brothers, Adam Lewandowski and Stanley Malc, as well as several nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.
Wanda lived an amazingly full life, reflecting the deepest love and admiration of her beloved family. Her feisty personality, witty sense of humor, and strong faith in Christ was an immeasurable blessing to her entire family and endeared her to all who came to know her. She proudly graduated in 1946 from Conshohocken High School and worked in a variety of office related jobs, including International Paper Company, Lee Tire & Rubber Co, Goodyear Tire Co, and as a lead receptionist for Novacare, from which she retired in her “eighties”.
During all those years and since then, she has continually devoted herself to family, church activities and to being the most fun-loving, generous, creative, wise, and admired wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver that anyone could imagine. Her kind-hearted demeanor and spirited nature was sought by many, including neighbors and those with whom she worked. She has been so loved and cherished- especially in these latter years- and will be deeply missed by so many. Her ultimate life goal, however, had always been to reach her heavenly home where she now resides in joy with her Savior and Lord.
She will long be remembered as a fervent prayer warrior, intense Scrabble and Rummy competitor, faithful Eagles fan, best listener and advice-giver, carphone companion, shopping buddy, crossword puzzle fanatic, her “cotton-candy” hairdo, morning breakfast routine, the color “purple” and especially for delivering hilarious one-liners, excuses, and “Gram-isms” that brightened many hearts.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at Visitation BVM Church, Trooper, PA, for this beautiful soul, with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 AM, and interment immediately following in St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown, PA. Funeral arrangements are being made in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
