William F Garvey Sr

William “Bill” F. Garvey Sr., 78, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Born in Roxborough on March 21, 1947, Bill was the son of the late John and Josephine (Graham) Garvey. He was a self-employed general contractor whose skill and dedication earned the respect of all who worked with him. Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

A lover of the outdoors, Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered for his steady kindness, strong work ethic, and the devotion he had to his family.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Kretsch) Garvey; his three sons, William Jr., Anthony, and Darin (Michelle) Garvey; and his sister, Geraldine Lange. Two brothers, Jay and Dennis Garvey. Five grandchildren Tony Jr, Benny, Olivia, Harper, Darin Jr.

He was predeceased by his sisters Jacqueline Righter and Joanne Garvey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, December 1, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Visitation BVM Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Volpe Funeral Home.
