William (Bill) Charles Reisdorf Jr., (“Howdy”) age 59, passed away suddenly of natural causes on September 9, 2021 at his home in King of Prussia, PA. Bill was born on August 9, 1962 in Chicago, IL to William Charles Reisdorf, Sr. and Mildred (Nordbeck) Reisdorf. Bill is survived by his brother Erik Reisdorf, his sister-in-law Marcia Szabados of Oregon, WI; his nephew Matt Reisdorf of Chicago, IL and his niece Katie Reisdorf of Oregon, WI. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his half-sister Sandra Reisdorf.

Bill was raised in Harvard, IL and moved to Baraga, MI where he graduated from Baraga High School, and later graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he received a B.S in Physics and was the first family member to receive a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biophysics. Bill spent most of his career working in the pharmaceutical industry and most recently with Glaxo Smith Kline as a Computational Biologist.

Bill was an avid reader, listener of classical music and a huge sports fan especially of his college alma mater and the Bayern Munich soccer club having lived in Germany previously. Mostly, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. Bill made family a priority in his life and enjoyed travelling throughout the U.S. and to Finland and Sweden to visit his extended family. Bill was especially kind, easy going, had a good sense of humor and always experienced the brighter side of life. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for all family and friends will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021, at the Finnish American Heritage Center Community Hall 435 Quincy Street in Hancock, MI from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Remember the happy times, raise a glass with cheer and come celebrate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the University of Michigan, Biophysics program or the Philadelphia Orchestra.
