Wilmer F. Eagens, Jr., “Tep,” 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, on February 27, 1934, he was the cherished son of the late Wilmer and Florence Eagens and a lifelong son of the community that shaped him.
Wilmer proudly served his country with quiet honor in the 111th Infantry Regiment of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. His service reflected a defining trait that marked his entire life - steadfast commitment without fanfare. Following his military service, Wilmer dedicated many years to the printing industry, where he earned a reputation for reliability, precision, and an unshakable work ethic. He believed in showing up, doing the job right, and letting effort speak for itself.
Outside of work, Wilmer found fulfillment in the simple, grounding joys of life. He loved fishing, working in his garden, and painting - each offering him a sense of calm, purpose, and quiet creativity. He was a longtime and proud member of the Maenner-Chor Club, where camaraderie, tradition, and friendship mattered deeply to him. Wilmer was a man who valued routine, loyalty, and community - never seeking the spotlight, but always earning respect.
Wilmer shared a devoted and loving marriage with his beloved wife, Hope Eagens, until her passing in 2018. Together, they built a life rooted in family, perseverance, and enduring values. Their home was one of constancy—where presence mattered more than words, and love was demonstrated through action.
He will be deeply missed by his loving children: Matthew (Genevieve), Faith Eagens, Charity DiEmedio, Dolores Jimenez, and Benjamin (Lauren). Wilmer was a proud and devoted grandfather to Halle, Isabella, Ava, Gabriel, Olivia, Peyton, Jack, and Christopher, each of whom brought him immense joy and quiet pride. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Lynne Pass and Pam Eagens.
Wilmer lived a life defined not by grand declarations, but by dependability, humility, and quiet strength. He taught by example - showing that character is revealed in consistency, that dignity lives in effort, and that a meaningful life is built one steady day at a time.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Wilmer’s life on Thursday, February 12, from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m., followed by family reflections at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Mausoleum.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Volpe Funeral Home.
