Sharlene (Doolittle) Smith

Sharlene (Doolittle) Smith passed away with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
She was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Florence (Burgoyne) Doolittle. She is survived by her son Rodney Buhrsmith, her daughter Robyn Smith and daughter-in-law Aimee Egan, her sister Carole Chapman, brother-in-law Richard Chapman, two grandchildren Trier and Declan, nieces Cheryl, Kim, Dana, Erin, Jenny, Mackenzie and nephew Michael. Sharlene, of Alexandria, Virginia, was a administrative assistant at the Georgetown University Hospital. Sharlene was very dedicated to her work for 35 years in the Ophthalmology department. She was known as the "Den Mother" for all of the residents in the residency program. She loved cooking, entertaining, reading, going to the beach and her absolute favorite vacation was in Greece. She has touched so many different people throughout her life in a beautiful and generous way. Her Celebration of Life, an open house, will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Washington DC at 1255 25th Street NW from 1-5 pm. Any flowers may be sent to this same address to the attention of Aimee Egan to arrive March 1, 2013 (for display during the Celebration of Life).
